Both Evan Ferguson AND Troy Parrott have emerged as potential transfer targets for Fulham in this winter window.
If a brief report in the Irish Examiner is to be believed, Marco Silva is considering both Republic of Ireland hitmen.
Fulham are in need of attacking reinforcements up front to help out Raul Jimenez.
The Premier League club have been scouring Europe in a bid to find new forwards and they are believed to have settled on the Republic of Ireland’s top two strike stars.
Parrott has been lethal for AZ Alkmaar and banged in a whopping 19 goals in 25 appearances for the Dutch outfit.
In their recent KNVB Cup tie, Parrott destroyed Ajax with a hattrick which had clubs sit and take notice.
It was an evening to remember for the Irishman who has also stunned for his nation in World Cup qualifying.
Fulham show transfer ‘interest’ in Troy Parrott and Evan Ferguson
Tottenham want Parrott back and would get the player for a cut-price due to a contract clause.
So Fulham would face a difficult challenge to convince the 23-year-old to make the move to another club.
Parrott also has Stuttgart interest in the Bundesliga which, if they can reach the fee, would surely entice him.
That surely won’t put Fulham off taking a punt and attempting to sign one of Europe’s most prolific attackers.
On the other side of the transfer double swoop is Evan Ferguson of Brighton and Hove Albion.
Also still a young player, Ferguson is a proven goal scorer in the Premier League with the Seagulls.
His loan stint at West Ham may have proven somewhat fruitless but he has found the net in the top flight.
Ferguson’s current predicament is an interesting one, and one Fulham will be keeping a close eye on.
AS Roma have the frontman on their books in a loan until the end of the season.
However the Serie A side have toyed with the potential of sending the Ireland cap back to his parent club early.
Manager Gian Piero Gasperini has been coy on Fergie even after his brace against Celtic.
Will Ferguson leave Roma in January?
Ferguson is wanted at Everton and that could also only happen if he’s allowed to leave Roma early.
But Fulham interest could change all those plans.
What could work in the Cottagers’ favour is the fact that Roma have recently signed strikers to rival Ferguson and cut his playing time.
Robinio Vaz arrived from Marseille to compete with the 21-year-old.
Meanwhile Aston Villa allowed Donyell Malen to head to the Olimpico in the January window.
Both signings could keep Ferguson out of the team which would not suit either his current or parent club.
Brighton shifted responsibility to Roma by recently suggesting it’s their call.
But if Fabian Hurzeler’s side are offered a decent chunk of change by the Craven Cottage outfit, that may change.
