Kylian Mbappe will sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, ending speculation over him joining Real Madrid next season.
It had been expected for quite some time that Mbappe would join Real Madrid, as his current contract with PSG expires at the end of the season.
However, it has now been widely reported that Mbappe will remain in the French capital, turning down the opportunity to join the Spanish giants.
Kylian Mbappe has informed Real Madrid that he is staying in Paris.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe personally called Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to explain that he was not going to join Real Madrid.
Real Madrid had made offers for Mbappe last summer, but those were rejected by PSG. The French club’s sporting director, Leonardo Araujo, admitted last summer that the Frenchman wanted to leave, although he has now changed his mind.
Mbappe first joined PSG on loan from Monaco in 2017, before joining the Parisians on a full-time basis in 2018. The club have yet to announce that the France international is staying on, but confirmation is expected shortly.
🚨 Kylian Mbappé will STAY at Paris Saint-Germain. He’s definitely not joining Real Madrid this summer, the final decision has been made and communicated to Florentino Perez. 🤝 #Mbappé

Good news for PSG.
Mbappe remaining in Paris will come as a huge boost to PSG, who are still on the hunt for their first-ever Champions League title.
PSG have won eight of the last ten Ligue 1 titles, but they have consistently underperformed in the Champions League, having lost out to Real Madrid in the round of 16 this year.
However, there is certainly enough talent at PSG to deliver the French club a first Champions League triumph, with Mbappe, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Neymar and Lionel Messi all playing their football at the Parc des Princes.
