One thing Philippe Coutinho can’t be questioned about is his level of professionalism.
Since the summer his name has been splashed across the back pages on an almost weekly basis with Barcelona the well-known suitor said to be lying in wait for his signature.
So far this season he has put to bed any talk of distraction however, netting ten goals already, including Liverpool’s opener in their 4-0 drubbing of Bournemouth on Sunday.
In almost every interview he has had to deal with suggestions that his future lies elsewhere. To his credit, he has dealt with these insinuations expertly and let his football do the talking.
Obviously aware of this constant speculation, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took it upon himself to defend his teammate in a post-match interview where the duo were standing side by side.
While Coutinho resolutely defended his corner immediately after the question around his future was put to him, the former Arsenal man interjected and perfectly summed up the focus the Brazilian is displaying at the moment.

Next up for the Anfield club is a difficult trip to the Emirates next Friday night, where Man of the Match Chamberlain could well be in line to face his former employers.
