After a ferocious start to their league campaign, Manchester United have begun to stutter in recent weeks with a shock loss to Huddersfield following a drab performance away to Liverpool.
Mourinho came in for some criticism after United’s performance at Anfield with the Red Devils seemingly afraid to attack despite the fact that Liverpool’s defence has been torn apart by all and sundry this season.
However, after a shock loss to Huddersfield at the Kirklees Stadium, Mourinho turned the blame on his own squad suggesting that their desire was lacking during the Premier League clash.
The starting XI for that fixture was as follows; De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Young; Herrera, Matic; Mata, Lingard, Martial; Lukaku.
With United now travelling to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea in the newly named Carabao Cup, Mourinho has named a side that is almost unrecognisable from the XI that ran out against Huddersfield with a total of seven changes made starting line-up.
However, despite the fact that Mourinho was happy to start fringe players in the form of Romero, Tuanzebe and McTominay, there is still, rather incredibly, no place for Luke Shaw with the former Southampton player only able to earn a place on the bench for the League Cup fixture.
