While Chelsea’s season so far hasn’t been all plain sailing, one man helping to keep them in contention on all fronts is Eden Hazard.
The skilful and pacy attacker has already scored eight goals and provided seven assists for his teammates in all competitions this term, which has helped the Londoners just about keep apace with the top two in the Premier League, Manchester City and Manchester United.
He has also been instrumental in the Blues qualifying for the knockout stage of the Champions League, having netted three goals and laid on three assists in Chelsea’s six group matches.
Following the Pensioners’ 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, which was enough to see them through to the next phase of the competition, albeit in second place, Gary Lineker asked Rio Ferdinand, his BT Sport colleague on the night, what it was like facing him back in his playing days.
His response perhaps sums up just how terrifying the tricky playmaker is to play against as a defender.

Hazard and Chelsea’s focus now shifts to Saturday lunchtime with the Blues making the trip across the city to West Ham for the 12:30pm kick-off.
