Tottenham Hotspur have released footage regarding their new stadium as the London club look ahead to beginning life in their new home in 2018.
Spurs are currently playing their home games at Wembley while White Hart Lane has been knocked and replaced and Thursday’s latest update on the ground will have clubs around the world in envy.
The new stadium looks set to be incredibly futuristic as it will include the world’s first retractable pitch – allowing for both football and NFL games to take place at the ground but on different surfaces.
The football pitch has been built a layer above the NFL turf, with it taking roughly 25 minutes to alternate between the two.
The NFL have in past occasionally staged games at Wembley and the American football league have signed a ten-year partnership deal with Tottenham that will allow that to continue for forthcoming seasons.
The capacity of the stadium lies at just over 61,500 which would make the ground the third biggest in the Premier League in terms of capacity – behind Old Trafford and West Ham’s London Stadium.
Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy has promised fans that the ground will be incredible via the club’s official website:
“Our stunning new stadium design and wider scheme will deliver an unrivalled fan experience and significant community benefits – creating a world class sports and entertainment destination for all – and in our birthplace of Tottenham.”
Given Spurs successes at White Hart Lane in comparison to their woes at Wembley, fans will be incredibly eager for the club to settle in to the ground as soon as possible.
SCX will supply a world-first dividing retractable pitch for our new stadium 👀
