“In time, you will know what it is like to lose. To know that you are right, yet fail all the same.”
The post-Alex Ferguson era in the Premier League has seen a changing of the guard in Manchester, with Manchester City emerging as a dominant force ahead of arch-rivals Manchester United.
This weekend’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford sees United entertaining City – trailing their neighbours by eight points. While the Premier League title race still hangs in the balance, anything other than victory would create a real mountain to climb for Jose Mourinho’s men to become champions.
Ahead of what is arguably the biggest derby in years, a truly stunning promo video has dropped on YouTube.
Charting the past successes of United and the failures of Ferguson’s successors, the video takes fans on a journey of change through the seasons – with clips such as Sergio Aguero’s title-winning goal, City’s 6-1 hammering of United in 2011 and their title victory in 2014.
Now in the Guardiola-Mourinho era, the rivalry between the clubs is at an all-time high. Tough tackles, passion, and taking the game by the scruff of the neck will be essential come Sunday.
The Manchester sides have been two of the stand-out performers so far this season, and with City looking unstoppable on their quest for glory – Mourinho’s men will be looking to stop them firmly in their tracks and derail the train on which City have steamed ahead.
Will United claim revenge for the hurt of recent seasons and throw a spanner in the works come Sunday evening? Or will City keep motoring on toward a third Premier League title?
After watching this, we can hardly wait to find out.
