Manchester United Fans Hammer Henrikh Mkhitaryan After Another Poor Performance

<> at Old Trafford on January 5, 2018 in Manchester, England.

Manchester United may have seen off Derby County to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup – but one man who has not escaped the criticism of his own fans is Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Late goals from Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku saw the Reds progress – but for many United supporters, it was another shocking performance from Mkhitaryan that they will remember most.

The Armenian was withdrawn from the game at half-time and replaced by Lukaku, having at times being booed by his own supporters in the first half. A poor cross was audibly scathed across Old Trafford – and now many fans are calling for it to be Mkhitaryan’s last appearance for the club.

While Jose Mourinho confirmed after the game that Mkhitaryan was not replaced due to the standard of his performance, but rather the necessity to bring on Lukaku, it seems as if a lot of supporters have come to the end of their tether with the former Borussia Dortmund man.

With speculation mounting over a potential departure from Old Trafford – it is clear that tonight’s performance has done Mkhitaryan no help in his quest for redemption from the United supporters.

It is a shocking situation given that the same player was being touted by many as a contender for the PFA Player of the Year early on in the campaign.

There is no denying that the Armenian withholds world-class ability at times – and perhaps that is why the United fans are so angered by his poor form as of late.
