A Carabao Cup quarter final game in the midst of a busy December period has necessitated some changes for Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho’s charges face an away trip to Championship side Bristol City, who are currently flying high in third and have won their last four matches.
Regular starters David de Gea, Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Nemanja Matic have not travelled with the United squad to Ashton Road, with the injured trio of Eric Bailly, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick still absent also.
In all, United have made ten changes to the starting eleven that earned a 2-1 over West Brom at the weekend.
Marcus Rashford is the only player who retains his place in the team, with Anthony Martial and Zlatan Ibrahimovic stepping in for Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku respectively, though the latter duo did travel and are on the bench.
Paul Pogba’s three-match Premier League suspension is up, and the Frenchman gets an opportunity tonight to get up to speed in this cup tie in midfield alongside youngster Scott McTominay.
Luke Shaw gets another chance to impress at left-back, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan makes it to his first match-day squad in almost a month.
