On this, the final matchday of the 2017/18 Premier League season, Mo Salah broke the record for the most goals scored in one campaign with a deft finish against Brighton.
What a season it has been for Mohamed Salah and what a way to end it.
Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez make up the elite company that had managed to score 31 goals in a 38 game season in the top-flight of English football in the modern era.
Today, in Liverpool’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion, Mo Salah managed to put himself in a category of his own.
32 goals is one helluva return for the former-Chelsea and Roma man who people genuinely had questions about prior to this season’s start. Like Kevin de Bruyne before him, he proved that sometimes it is timing and setting more than anything that can throw a player’s rhythm off when settling in to the Premier League.
It was a characteristically cool finish from the Egyptian as Liverpool started to build on the gap between themselves and their opponents.
