Watch: The Highlights From Michael Carrick’s Testimonial Feat. Vidic, Scholes And Neville

Michael Carrick’s Testimonial at Old Trafford gave fans a chance to witness the spectacle that was the Champions League winning team of 2008 for one final time.

Though Cristiano Ronaldo was absent given his Champions League winning exploits in Cardiff last night, the star power on display today was remarkable, with an All Star XI also present and taking on Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

One match-up that had many intrigued was that of on-field turned Sky Sports rivals Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, with the latter making his intentions clear and acting upon them.

The jovial atmosphere continued as the career right-back attempted an audacious volley.

Some of the more seasoned goalscorers eventually got into action, with Gaizka Mendieta opening the scoring for the away side.

United legend Nemanja Vidic replied in kind, paving the way for Robbie Keane to put the All Stars back ahead with a spectacular effort.

One man who didn’t get on the scoresheet was Paul Scholes, though the diminutive playmaker was no less influential on the game.

Fittingly, Michael Carrick himself would plunder home the final goal, with the game finishing 2-2.
