Watch: Marco Asensio Adds Yet Another Paul Scholes Special To His Highlight Reel

Has Marco Asensio ever scored an average goal?

The Spaniard helped Real Madrid earn a much needed reprieve with another other-worldly strike. Two straight defeats are part and parcel of many a team’s season, but for the Galacticos, it was beginning to herald a crisis.

A 3-0 win over lowly Las Palmas on Sunday night will help ease the pressure on Zinedine Zidane and his side.

Casemiro put Los Blancos ahead just before half-time, and ten minutes into the second 45, Marco Asensio popped up with an absolute screamer to light up the Bernabeu.

Raúl Lizoáin of Las Palmas punched away a free kick when the ball dropped to Asensio from distance.

The 21-year-old has a penchant for the spectacular.

He started the season with two astonishing goals against rivals Barcelona, one in each leg of the season-opening Supercopa de Espana.

Later that month, Asensio single-handedly earned his side a draw with Valencia in a La Liga game, with a brace as good as any you are likely to see.

Despite his stellar promise, Madrid find themselves eight points behind leaders Barcelona heading into the international break.
