After his World Cup exploits with England, Jamie Vardy was restricted to a substitute appearance against Manchester United last week.
The season opener saw Leicester City lose out 2-1 to the Red Devils, so their first home game on Saturday against Wolves represented a chance at some much needed early points.
They took a 2-0 lead through a Matt Doherty own goal, and a strike via impressive new signing James Maddison.
The likely three points here come at a huge cost, however.
Vardy has scored 63 Premier League goals, but his main contribution here was being red carded after 66 minutes. He went to challenge the aforementioned Doherty for the ball, but his kick followed through and caught the Irishman on the leg, earning a straight red card from referee Mike Dean.
Vardy currently stands to miss league fixtures against Southampton, Liverpool and Bournemouth.
