In the wake of Arsenal’s disappointing FA Cup draw against Hull, Claude implored manager Arsene Wenger to play the strongest team.
ArsenalFanTV caught up with the frustrated Gooner, who lamented the fact that Arsene Wenger rested the likes of Mesut Ozil and Francis Coquelin in the Gunners’ goalless draw with Hull City on Saturday, which now necessitates a replay at a later date.
When the possibility of Ozil or Alexis getting injured if they were to play in domestic cup games so close to their crunch Champions League tie with Barcelona tomorrow is raised, Claude reached peak cynicism.
“We’ll probably lose against Barcelona anyway, so what’s the f**king point!?”
What follows is an interesting debate on fitness among players and when (or indeed if) they should be rested. When asked what front three he would go with against the Catalan giants, Claude was nonplussed.
“At the moment we’ve got strikers that couldn’t score in a brothel. We haven’t got that world class striker that can put chances away. I’m so bloody pissed off with it all.”
Stars Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were sent on in the second half in an attempt to salvage a win, but to no avail.
