Video: Class Of 92 Documentary To Air On Their New Club

The legendary Class of 92 are now in search of a different kind of success – as owners of a lower league football club.

The trailer for upcoming BBC documentary ‘Out of their League’ has been released, which focuses on Manchester United’s famous Class of ’92 and their takeover of non-league outfit Salford City FC.

Retired players Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and brothers Phil and Gary Neville bought the non-league team in 2014, and the three-part programme documents their first year at the helm as they attempt to to take the 75 year-old club from the Evo-Stik league (eight rungs below the Premiership) to the top.

One notable absentee however, is fellow Class of 92 legend David Beckham. Nicky Butt via The Mirror said: “Becks is part of us. We’ve known him since he was 11. I think he really, really wanted to get involved but he’s one of the busiest men alive.

“He asks how it’s going and takes an interest.”

It follows the quality Wayne Rooney and Alex Ferguson documentaries the BBC have commissioned and broadcasted in recent weeks.
