The Paris Saint Germain midfielder would be a coup for any English club.
Speaking to Goal.com, the young Italian, who has garnered rave reviews and comparisons to legendary compatriot Andrea Pirlo, was coy about his future destination.
“You never know what can happen in the future,” he stated.
“I am fine where I am now and I am not thinking about a transfer. I will consider my options the day I no longer feel good at PSG or when the club wants to sell me but England, Spain and Italy are all options. What matters most is the project.”
Clubs such as Arsenal, in particular, and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the 22 year old, and this news will pique their interest further.
Barcelona would appear to be the frontrunners though, judging by these comments:
“Barcelona are one of the strongest clubs in the world and have been so for a long time,” said the three time UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year star.
“They are a great team but I am happy at PSG at the moment. But it is always flattering for a player when such a big club is interested in you. It is up to the people at Barcelona to decide [if I would fit in] but it is true that I like their style.”
Only a massive bid would force his hand this summer, so the Premier League has been put on alert for the potential availability for Veratti in the near to mid future.
