Seven summer signings leaves Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers with some clearing out to do.
For his side’s win last night over Bournemouth, Brendan Rodgers picked the same side and bench as he did in the season opener at Stoke City last weekend. This meant no place in the match-day squad for Lucas Leiva or Mamadou Sakho.
As per Andy Hunter of The Guardian, “The Brazilian midfielder and France international defender, who could both exit before the close of the transfer window, were to be found sat with fellow outcasts Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique in the back row of the directors box.”
Indeed, Balotelli and Borini are already on their way out of Anfield,
LFC Globe on Twitter, though, give a different take on the situation.
There’s more to the Sakho situation than meets the eye. He will remain this summer, but all is not well with him and BR.

.@j4yy Rodgers prefers Lovren. Sakho feels he has done nothing to be sidelined and has told BR. Rodgers not happy with his attitude.

Quality center backs are few and far between this summer, as Manchester United fans have found out with the sagas of Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Ramos, and with only Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure as competition (assuming Martin Skrtel is a nailed-on starter) Sakho may stay on as a Liverpool player for now.
As for Lucas, Besiktas are to make a long awaited make a move according to Eurosport Turkey. Italian sides AC Milan and Juventus are also being touted as potential suitors for the Liverpool midfielder.
