Numerous But Conflicting Reports Cite Lazio Midfielder As Man United’s First January Signing

Many sources suggest that Felipe Anderson is on his way to Man United, although noted Italian transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio is unsure.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey initially broke the news, with the aforementioned Di Marzio seemingly unaware of any activity regarding the Brazilian.

A £35million bid has been mooted, with Man United manager Louis van Gaal previously on record seeking ‘speedy attacking players’. Man United’s troubles upfront in recent months have been well documented, and the fact that LVG is still in charge of the club heading into the January transfer window could see a mid-season spending splurge.

With the Dutchman apparently receiving a stay of execution following an eight game winless streak, his activity in the market this month could determine his future at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old Anderson has netted five times for Lazio this season. Unlike his Brazilian namesake, who played for Man United from 2007 to 2015, Felipe is capable of playing as a forward and as a winger.
