Falcao Could be Staying in the Premier League After All

Chelsea have declared their intent of signing Falcao, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.com, whom specialise in the transfer market.

The Premier League champions are interested in a loan deal for the struggling Colombian striker. DiMarzio.com claims that Falcao is close to joining Chelsea on a straight loan from Monaco, while Chelsea youth prospect Mario Pašalić, a Croatian central midfielder who is currently at Elche on loan from Chelsea, could go the other way.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho recently lamented the perception of Falcao due to his poor loan spell at Manchester United (due to scoring just four goals in 26 appearances), saying:

“If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it. It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United.”

With United and Monaco seemingly unwilling to commit to paying the striker’s vast wages, Chelsea appear to be one of the few options left that could afford the 29 year old.
