Cristiano Ronaldo Names His Top Five Young Players

The choices made by the multiple time Ballon D’or winner certainly won’t satisfy everyone.

Cristiano Ronaldo was recently asked who he thinks the five most promising talents in world football are.

Speaking to BT Sport, Cristiano Ronaldo believes that Eden Hazard, Neymar, Paul Pogba, Martin Odegaard and Manchester United forward Memphis are the five young stars set to take the footballing world by storm.

The Real Madrid superstar stated:

“You see many players with potential, I will mention Odegaard of Madrid for example, at 16 he’s still young but you can see he’s a very good player. Hazard for example, the No7 of Manchester Memphis Depay is a good player too, Pogba and maybe Neymar.”

While Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is worthy of praise, the Belgian is 24 – not exactly young when compared with another nominee in Real Madrid’s Odegaard – who is just 16.

Neymar needs no justification, so prepositioning his selection with ‘perhaps’ is rather bizzare. The Brazilian currently tops La Liga’s scoring charts with one more goal than Ronaldo himself.

Memphis of course wears Ronaldo’s old number 7 shirt at Old Trafford, while Paul Pogba also used to ply his trade with the Red Devils.
