The Alexis Sanchez transfer saga has frustrated the Gooner faithful throughout the summer.
With just a year left on his contract and seemingly no intention of extending it, Sanchez has been encouraged to leave the London side in this transfer window in order to allow Arsenal to cash in on their want-away talisman.
Indeed, Manchester City, who have led the queue for his signature, offered a cool £60m for the Chilean earlier today.
The move has fallen through, however, with Thomas Lemar’s refusal to replace Sanchez at The Emirates meaning that the club have been forced to hold on to their star forward.
Monaco accepted £92m Arsenal offer for Lemar. Lemar turned down move. Needed more time to consider it. Means Alexis Sanchez stays at Arsenal

So while Arsenal retain the world class services of the 28-year-old, his morale and willingness to leave raises questions regarding his usefulness to the Gunners.
One of his predecessors in Ian Wright made his feelings known at the news of Sanchez staying, as he begged the club to move him on instead of conducting ‘bad business’.

Get em gone! He is class but disillusioned with hierarchy and although I feel he is one of us and works hard, if the nut ain't happy jog on

Not much of that left… He'll no doubt be a disruptive influence in the dressing room until we snap him up for 20 million in January…

His contribution to Arsenal on the field upon the conclusion of the International break will be scrutinised heavily, though Sanchez is more than capable of performing at a high level for the rest of his tenure in North London.
