BBC Report Arsenal’s New Managerial Appointment, And Arteta Is Nowhere To Be Seen

A shock reveal on the future direction of Arsenal has been announced by the BBC’s David Ornstein.

Aside from the remarkable memes that greet any and all of Ornstein’s Arsenal-related tweets, the BBC reporter is the authority on all matters relating to the Gunners.

Chief among those is the man to be appointed to replace Arsene Wenger.

Former Arsenal star Mikel Arteta was all but confirmed to take over at the Emirates, despite no experience as a senior head manager.

Now one of the other names in the frame is set to officially get the gig this week per Ornstein, who says that recently departed PSG boss Unai Emery has been chosen by the Arsenal top brass.

He wrote on Twitter:

“Arsenal to appoint Unai Emery as new manager. Thorough process produced 46yo Spaniard as unanimous choice. Available after leaving PSG (1 Lg1 title, 4 cups), previously Sevilla (3 EL wins), not fluent English. Announcement + press conference likely later this week”

The late change of heart comes as a shock, but Emery comes with credentials. Though he failed to make the cash-rich PSG contend for the Champions League, he boasts a Ligue 1 title, along with three consecutive Europa League titles with Sevilla of Spain.
