The German outlet report that Arsenal are by far the most keen on signing young prodigy Phillipp Ochs of TSG Hoffenheim.
Although he’s made just 13 appearances in the Bundesliga, Phillipp Ochs is the subject of widespread interest across Europe.
This is due to his sterling form in the UEFA U19 Championship with national side Germany. Despite finishing third in Group A, and therefore being eliminated from the competition, Ochs has already left his mark on the tournament.
The German U-19’s lost 4-3 to a promising Portugal side, with Ochs scoring all three of the German goals.
And according to BILD, Arsenal were suitably impressed enough to the extent that they are ‘chasing’ the winger.
“At home and abroad top clubs have him on the list, especially in England. In particular, Arsenal observers were impressed. BILD knows that Arsenal of London are chasing the Hoffenheim talent!”
Transfermarkt valued the 19-year-old at €750k at the end of the domestic season, but his performances this summer have ensured that the price tag has rocketed into the seven figure range.
No other club is mentioned by name (aside from the reference to Leipzig attempting to sign him last year), so the Gunners appear to be early front-runners.
