Though Manchester United have already installed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager for the rest of the season, the fallout from Jose Mourinho’s departure still carries on.
This has mainly focused on the much-scrutinised relationship between Mourinho and Paul Pogba, but this morning saw another star in Alexis Sanchez being cited as a Jose detractor.
The Sun reported that Sanchez celebrated the sacking in a players’ WhatsApp group, boasting that he’d won a £20k bet off of teammate Marcos Rojo for predicting it.
It was claimed that the message read: “I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k.”
The 30-year-old did struggle under the Portuguese since arriving at Old Trafford from Arsenal back in January, but such a quick breakdown in regard for the manager would be quite the shock.
For his part, the Chilean took to Twitter to categorically refute the report, addressing the outlet from which the report originated.
“This is fake!!!.”, he stated.
“The mister brought me to the best team in the world and I only have thanks for him. We’re a real United team. We’re MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can’t wait to be able to help the team, we’re going to get ahead together. Good luck tomorrow family!”
Buena suerte mañana familia ! pic.twitter.com/mKDTVOwsrj

The squad’s true feelings on Mourinho are sure to the subject of further interest, with some players such as Jesse Lingard and Eric Bailly releasing statements in support of their ex-boss when it was announced earlier in the week.
