Aaron Ramsey To Leave Arsenal At End Of Season

Arsenal v Manchester City: Pre-Season Friendly

An eleven year relationship will come to an end at the conclusion of the season.

Aaron Ramsey joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008, and quickly became a fan favourite with some majestic performances in midfield.

But February 2010 would unfortunately see a leg break that took the Welshman years to fully recover from. While still undoubtedly talented, he hasn’t reached the heights that the Gunner faithful were hoping for.

He remains a popular fixture at the club throughout his 341 appearances thus far, but Ramsey will not be offered a new contract by Arsenal, per Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old is reportedly free to leave in the summer, and with his current contract running out, a new club would only have to pay his wages (which were apparently a sticking point in the failed negotiations).

Manager Unai Emery had praised the player when asked about the back-and-forth, but clearly had his focus elsewhere going forward.

“Aaron and the club can speak and he can think for his individual contract with the club and with his thinking maybe of the possibility that he won’t continue here. But, for me, for us and for the team, it’s about being together and getting better and in each training for us.”

Some of the massive clubs linked with Ramsey include the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, with even Juventus said to be in the mix.
