A 2007 ’50 Most Exciting Teenagers On The Planet’ List Turns Out To Be Quite Good

Lists of this nature can be hit and miss at the best of times.

The infamous England Team of the Future picture from the 2007 can attest to this.


The World Soccer Magazine’s list of the 50 most exciting teenagers on the planet, from November of the same year, comes away with significantly more credence, though. It’s been almost eight years since the publish date.


The list in full is as follows, with the notable players bolded:

Theo Walcott and Henri Saivet are the only players who have remained at their respective clubs since the list was made. Multiple Champions League and World Cup winners abound in the list, with Gareth Bale becoming the most expensive player of all time after a €100m move to Real Madrid in 2013. Eight of the fifty (16% overall) currently ply their trade in the Barclays Premier League.
