Daniel Sturridge managed to bag himself an all-time great in terms of missed opportunities in his side’s Carabao Cup pairing against Chelsea this evening.
As long as he continues playing professional football, you can be sure that Sturridge will never miss an open goal as glaring as this one.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool hosted Chelsea at Anfield in today’s Carabao Cup third round matchup and just after the break, both sides remained level.
Daniel Sturridge was sent through on goal though in the 46th minute and managed to deftly round the Chelsea keeper – the open goal there for the taking.
Against all odds, the Englishman shot off-balance and missed the target completely in what has to be one of the most shocking misses you will ever see.
