Kevin Long scored an absolute howler of an own-goal to hand Chelsea the lead in Burnley’s crucial Premier League matchup this evening.
Own-goals. They’re an inevitability in football and all you can really do is your best to avoid them ever happening to you. Unfortunately for Burnley’s Kevin Long, tonight he scored one that could well have massive ramifications for his side’s league finish this year.
Within touching distance of sixth-placed Arsenal, Burnley faced Chelsea in a must-win game for their season.
Ireland’s Kevin Long appeared to have a complete breakdown of communication with his keeper and with that, he watched as Chelsea took the lead.
Arsenal are now two points ahead of them in sixth and if the scoreline does remain unchanged, Burnley will have their work cut out for them to bridge the gap.
