Quinn To New FAI Board: “League Of Ireland Has To Be Top Of Queue”

Niall Quinn has given his reaction to the idea of a new-look FAI by expressing his enthusiasm for the future and pushing the idea of a change in focus.

The FAI have come under quite a bit of attention after the discovery of a €100,000 bridging loan given to them by then-Chief Executive John Delaney in 2017.

Last week’s appearance by members of the FAI in front of the Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Transport, and Sport did little to reassure both the footballing world and the general public.

In the immediate aftermath, Brian Kerr and Niall Quinn managed to grab a quite few well-deserved headlines after giving their thoughts on that day’s cagey affair – an entire ordeal that left a sour taste in the mouths of those watching.

Citing this as one of the biggest embarrassments in Ireland’s footballing history – their reaction was met with a positive response from those who heard it and now, Quinn has taken a moment during a recent appearance on Virgin Media Sport to express his enthusiasm for the future of the FAI under its new board, but made it clear that there needs to be a shift in focus.

When asked if he would be interested in a role within the organisation, this what the former Irish striker had to say.
