After a phenomenal season for both club and country, Luka Modric has taken home the UEFA Men’s Player Of The Year award.
Modric is a man who has tasted success on many levels over the course of his fine career to date, but winning an individual award like this will be an extra sweet moment for him.
Considering how dominant his former-teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been over the years, a change-up like this is almost refreshing.
Leading his countrymen to a World Cup final, Modric also took home last season’s Champions League trophy.
Overall, it has been a long time coming for the 32-year-old but there is no doubt that this will rank highly amongst his proudest moments in professional football to date.
