Liverpool played Napoli today in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin and after the match, there was a short tribute to Sean Cox.
Cox, 53, a Liverpool fan and father of three, was assaulted outside of Anfield back in April, was put into an induced coma following him sustaining serious injuries in the attack.
It would be nearly three months until he would regain consciousness – something that sent a ripple through both the Irish and Liverpudlian football fanbase.
Jurgen Klopp spoke about the Meath man in a press conference a few months ago and couldn’t hide the upsetting nature of what had transpired.
At today’s pre-season friendly between Liverpool and Napoli in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, a moment was taken after the game to pay tribute to Cox.

Klopp actually took time out of his busy pre-season schedule to visit the family of Sean Cox while in the Irish capital and overall, the Reds’ trip across to Dublin left a powerful impression on those close to April’s horrific incident.
