Everton’s Yannick Bolasie looks set to spend an entire year on the sidelines following a knee injury sustained in the Toffees’ 1-1 draw with Manchester United in December.

Bolasie, who picked up the injury last month, is now said to be out of action for around 11-12 months, something his manager, Ronald Koeman confirmed on Wednesday.

Originally reported by BBC Sport, reports since then have led people to believe that serious ligament damage has been done to the DR Congo international; damage that more than likely won’t see him return until midway through the 2017/18 season.

Bolasie, who is known for his pace and tricky feet, signed for Everton in August from Crystal Palace for a fee of £25 million and has appeared 15 times in all competitions this year, bagging just one goal in the process.

Such injuries are always horrible to see, regardless of your preferred club, and all we can do now is wish Bolasie the best of luck in his recovery over the next number of months.
