Hazard Brace Helps Chelsea Ease To Europa League Final Glory

Chelsea managed to stomp out Arsenal with a display of complete and utter dominance in the second half to clinch this year’s Europa League trophy by a score of 4-1.

It was something of a muted atmosphere in the Baku Olympic Stadium this evening as the Europa League final was contested by fierce London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

And for the first half, the game appeared to show those signs – with the highlight of the match stemming from a solid save by Arsenal keeper Petr Cech, who, of course, is leaving the sport and his legendary career behind him following this final appearance.

The second-half, however, started with a Chelsea flurry – a trio of goals from Olivier Giroud, Pedro, and Eden Hazard within the space of 16 minutes to put some serious distance between them and their rivals.

All seemed to be lost for the Gunners until Alex Iwobi swung the momentum wildly in his side’s momentum with an absolutely world-class volley from the edge of the Chelsea box.

It was simply one of the best goals the tournament played host to all year.

Unfortunately, the excitement it brought about was not to last as Chelsea’s talismanic figure Eden Hazard managed to find the net within moments of Arsenal’s life-line.

In the end, there was no Arsenal fight-back and the scores ended with a comprehensive 4-1 win for Sarri’s Chelsea.
