Former Man City & Real Madrid Star Robinho Sentenced To Nine Years In Jail

The former-Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Manchester City superstar Robinho has been sentenced to nine-years in prison after he was found guilty of sexual assault.

Robinho is a name who most football fans remember for his stints at some of the world’s biggest clubs and, of course, his heroics for the Brazilian national team, but today, following the news that he had been charged as a member of a group of five men who sexually assaulted a woman in a nightclub in Milan, Italy back in 2013, has been sentenced to a lengthy time in jail.

The Brazilian is probably best known to fans of the Premier League for his time at Manchester City, making a £32.5 million move from Madrid but failing to capture anything resembling consistent form.

The 33-year-old, who was last seen playing for Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro, has been handed a nine-year prison sentence according to reports in Italy and as a result, has more-than-likely played his last game as a professional, although the option to appeal is apparently still present.

Little else is known about the situation as of right now.
