Bray Wanderers Players Have Voted To Go On Strike

Following a period of almost two months without pay, the players of Irish football club Bray Wanderers have voted to go on strike.

Last week came the news that five members of the Seagulls’ squad have left the side and entered the realm of free agency after being given the right to do so in the wake of the late payments.

Cory Galvin, Aaron Greene, Craig Walsh, Daniel Kelly and Ronan Coughlan were the five to bring their time at Carlisle Grounds to an end and now, it appears as though the rest of the squad are about to exercise their power.

A statement of solidarity posted to the PFA Ireland Twitter page can be seen below.

The squad haven’t so much as trained in the last two weeks after being told repeatedly that their payments would be processed.

Strike action by players require a seven day notice period to be given to employers to come into effect, so even though they play their upcoming matchup with Bohemians on July 20, from there on the future is less than clear.
