The fixtures were piling up for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp..
Former Liverpool winger John Barnes has brushed off Jurgen Klopp’s ‘moaning’, amid the Reds’ hopes of claiming an unlikely quadruple in the next week.
This weekend, Liverpool have an outside chance of winning the Premier League title, although it is unlikely. In essence, Liverpool must better City’s result against Aston Villa, when they host Wolves.
However, a Liverpool draw and Man City loss may not do it, unless City are dished out with a heavy beating at home to Villa.
“The recent scheduling of fixtures hasn’t been anti-Liverpool..”
And speaking to BonusCodeBets, Barnes hit back at Klopp’s past claims suggesting that the fixture pile-up on the Reds was unfair.
“The problem Liverpool face with their scheduling is that the further you go in cup competitions, the more games begin to pile up,” Barnes began.
“We played on Saturday and they thought the best day for us was Tuesday!” 😡
Jurgen Klopp is NOT happy with the fixture schedule, but says Liverpool will give it all they have against Southampton today 💪pic.twitter.com/2AeS7Xj4b4

“The recent scheduling of fixtures hasn’t been anti-Liverpool, their success has just meant that they need to play all of their games close to one another.
“Managers feel that scheduling is unfair all the time. It’s just inevitable that towards the end of the season, you have to play a lot of games.”
Liverpool’s trophy hunt.
Last weekend, Liverpool claimed their second trophy of the season with another penalty shootout win at the expense of Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
And while the Premier League looks unlikely, they appear in a good position to claim another Champions League crown, at the expense of Real Madrid.
But should they claim an unthinkable quadruple, it would eclipse Manchester United’s treble winning season in the late-1990s, which will prove as a major source of inspiration for the Reds.
