A disastrous night is unfolding in Paris.
Gary Lineker slammed Uefa officials in Paris on Saturday evening, as the Champions League final descended into chaos at the Stade de France.
Kick-off was delayed on a number of occasions, with fans unable to get into the 75,000 capacity venue in the French capital.
Initially the game was due to start at 8pm, before it then was pushed back to 8.15pm. Minutes later, it was then scheduled to begin at 8.30pm. It finally kicked off at 8.36pm.
“Absolutely shambolic and dangerous..”
But leading up to the final kicking off, Lineker hit out at Uefa for allowing the pre-match issues fester into chaos in the French capital.
“I’m not sure it’s possible to have a more poorly organised event if you tried,” he wrote on social media. “Absolutely shambolic and dangerous.”

Lineker was attending the game, and admittedly found it very difficult to make his way into the ground, like many others in the vicinity of the area.
During Lineker’s revelations outside the ground, videos also began to emerge of supporters being pepper sprayed as they attempted to get into the venue.
Many of those being sprayed had tickets in their possession, as evident in the videos published on social media.

Uefa issue statement as the Champions League final descends into chaos.
With chaos unfolding outside the ground, Uefa issued a statement explaining that the game was delayed due to ‘security’ reasons.
Although screens in the venue claimed otherwise, saying it was due to the ‘late arrival of supporters’.
