Early on Tuesday afternoon, multiple reports claimed that Jose Mourinho had already identified Juan Mata and Daley Blind as two players he wants sold this summer.

There had already been question marks over Mata’s future given the fact that he had previously been sold by Mourinho during his last stint at Stamford Bridge. However, Blind’s apparent sale does come as some what of a surprise given the fact that United were actually quite strong in defence when the Dutchman was marshaling the back line this season.

Currently struggling with a minor injury, Blind was today asked about the reports that have suggested he is not part of the Special One’s plans at Old Trafford.

Speaking with Dutch outlet Nos, the Manchester United man said that he is ignoring the circulating stories and also stated that he is entirely focused on being ready for next season.

“I am looking forward to working with Mourinho. We will have to wait and see whether anything changes for me.

“I will just give my all and work hard. Mourinho is a manager who has achieved a lot and I am keen to work with him.

“I might not be as big as Pepe, but I think I have shown in the Premier League that I can hold my own defensively. We conceded the fewest goals in the Premier League and I think we got the most clean sheets.

“That’s something to be proud of. I played nearly every game and that is a good feeling.

“You might be looking for a certain statement, but I will just give my all under Mourinho.”
