Loris Karius should be given another chance between the sticks according to the former Liverpool keeper Bruce Grobbelaar.
One mistake on a sufficiently grand stage can be enough to tarnish a career forever and while most do sympathize with the 24-year-old Liverpool man Loris Karius, the cost of messing up in such a high-profile matchup could well be too much to see him line out for the Reds again next season.
Two pretty inexcusable blunders from the German keeper saw Liverpool’s Champions League dream turn into a disaster. Sure, there were other contributing factors such as the unfortunate injury to star man Mo Salah early on but for the most part, many are finding it easy to point to Karius as a major reason for the English side’s defeat.
Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar gave his take on the widespread attacks on Loris Karius in a recent interview with BBC Sport:
“They gave me two years of second chances, so why can’t they give him a second chance after one game?
“They should keep him in the spotlight from next season.
“First game back, get him back as soon as possible.
“Liverpool can win the Champions League next year but need two more players to add to the squad. They need a centre-half and a striker.”
