Sometimes, there’s slow news days here at Pundit Arena HQ. Today wasn’t one of them.
Manchester United alone were responsible for a flurry of transfer news and now, apparently, they’ve snapped up another top target.
Gianluca Di Marzio is one of football’s most trusted sources, particularly on the goings on in Old Trafford. He reports this evening that:
“Manchester United has also closed for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian trequartista is ready to leave Borussia Dortmund and has found a house in Manchester.”
Micki’s arrival comes as no surprise to United fans, his switch from Dortmund has been on the cards for weeks.
Mkhitaryan comes to Sir Matt Busby Way with quite the resumé. He bagged 23 goals and an astonishing 32 assists on his way to being named the Bundesliga Players’ Player of the Year.
Let’s not forget that’s a league that includes the likes of Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski and Marco Reus.
He alone was directly involved in more goals last season (in all competitions) than United mustered in their entire league campaign.
What a signing.
