Former UFC champions Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman have labelled the potential Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal fight at UFC White House as a ‘perfect comeback’ for both.
McGregor hasn’t fought in almost five years and Masvidal hasn’t fought in three, with a UFC White House main event slot perhaps on the cards.
Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal The ‘Perfect Comeback’ Fight
Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo and former long-reigning UFC Welterweight Title holder Kamaru Usman have labelled a possible Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal fight as the ‘perfect comeback’ for both men.
This comes days after UFC President Dana White shut down McGregor vs Masvidal rumours, insisting that it most definitely will not headline UFC White House on June 14.
White insists that rumours of McGregor vs Masvidal are just ‘goofy s***’, and it isn’t a fight he, Hunter Campbell and any UFC match-makers are looking at for the White House this summer.

There were serious rumours that McGregor would be fighting long-term rival Michael Chandler at UFC White House too, but White shut down McGregor’s return against Chandler insisting the fight is at least two or three years past its sell-by date.
Booth Cejudo and Usman disagree with White’s sentiments though and feel that McGregor vs Masvidal makes perfect sense for the White House on June 14.
‘Triple C’ labelled the match-up as the ‘perfect comeback’ fight for both men, with ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in total agreement with his friend and fellow podcast host.
Usman and Cejudo discussed a wide range of topics on their latest episode of the Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru & Henry, one of which was the recent UFC White House rumours and fall-out of White’s comments about McGregor, Chandler and Masvidal.
Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo Want McGregor vs Masvidal At UFC White House
Both Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo agree that Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal makes sense for UFC White House, but understand why UFC President Dana White mightn’t be too keen on making the contest.
Masvidal has vowed to ‘beat the f***ing dog s***’ out of McGregor at UFC White House when discussing his possible return on The Ariel Helwani Show earlier this week.
White has since dismissed any rumours of McGregor vs Masvidal, but both Usman and Cejudo feel it makes sense for both parties for a wide variety of reasons.

Both men have been inactive, meaning it is somewhat a level playing field in that sense. It also means McGregor doesn’t have to cut additional weight down to lightweight or even welterweight, with the fight possibly even being made at 185-pounds in the middleweight division depending on Masvidal’s current physique.
For all of these reasons, plus the fact the fight was mentioned on previous occasions several years ago, both former dominant UFC champions feel that McGregor vs Masvidal is the fight to make for the UFC White House main event.
It is unlikely White makes a U-turn on his previous comments and decides to go forward with the match-up, but it isn’t totally beyond the realms of possibility.
MMA fans are just hoping to see the Irishman back in the cage, no matter who it’s against. McGregor has ramped up training in recent weeks ahead of his proposed UFC comeback, which he insists will be at the White House on June 14.
