Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard has given a bleak assessment of Conor McGregor’s chances against Floyd Mayweather if the two face each other in the boxing ring.
The UFC lightweight champion has repeatedly stated that he will shock the world when the two meet, whenever that might be.
The chances of the fight actually happening took a massive step forward this week when the Nevada Athletic Commission reduced the sanctions imposed on McGregor following the now infamous bottle throwing incident at UFC 202.
This, in the opinions of insiders, now paves the way for the Irishman to successfully apply for his boxing license in the state.
Now, TMZ Sport have released a street-side interview with Leonard in which it was put to him how long he thought McGregor would last against Mayweather.
“In boxing….one round.”
Leonard also went on to reveal that he believes the chances are good that McGregor may stray from the boxing code should he face Mayweather, with a kick likely coming from the UFC star.
Take a look.

While Leonard admitted he will certainly watch the fight on pay-per-view, it seems he isn’t expecting value for money in the form of a long contest.
With no agreement or date set for what will be one of the most lucrative fights in history, we still don’t know if Leonard is going to be proven correct, or if McGregor can indeed shock the world.
