Nick Blackwell was taken out of the ring on a stretcher and taken straight to hospital last night as he was badly beaten by Eubank Jnr. Eubank was in complete control early in the fight landing combinations with ease and hurting his opponent in the process.
Blackwell’s left eye was completely closed up and he looked a beaten man before the fight was stopped by the ringside doctor in the 10th round of a scheduled 12. While Eubank did most of the damage early in the fight he appeared to be fatiguing in the later rounds but the doctor decided that Blackwell was unable to continue.

Eubank Jnr. is the new British Middleweight Champion and it seems as though he is every bit as good a boxer as he has been touted as being. With rumours circulating about a possible Mayweather v Golovkin matchup, Eubank would be best served looking to get a rematch with Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO World Title.
Saunders is the only man to beat Eubank Jnr. in a 22 fight career. Of the rematch Eubank told The Daily Star,
“I want to be the first man to beat him. He did it to me.”
“I’m not going to say he took my unbeaten record, he was given it so I want to return the favour. I want to be the man to put the first loss on his record.”
Saunders is set to defend his WBO Title for the first time next month against number 11 ranked Max Bursak. This one is probably a bit one sided but the rematch against Eubank would be far from that.
