Anthony Joshua rubbed shoulders with Floyd Mayweather Jr. at a meet and greet event recently…
Boxer come promoter Floyd Mayweather Jr. was on this side of the Atlantic over the weekend, as he accompanied his heavily-touted super-featherweight charge Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis Jr. to London for a clash with previously unbeaten Englishman Liam Walsh.
Davis, who scooped the IBF 130-pound strap with a scintillating and destructive display against Jose Pedraza in January, once again showed blinding hand-speed and devastating power to make short work of Walsh at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday night.
However, despite the fact that the 22-year-old Davis entered yet another stunning performance to move to 18-0 with 17 stoppage wins and further establish himself as one of boxing’s best young fighters, members of the press seemed more interested in asking Mayweather about a possible comeback and that ubiquitously discussed potential showdown with UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.
It wasn’t just the media that wanted to quiz Mayweather about the fight though. Only weeks removed from his titanic battle with Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium, heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua was also keen to talk to the American about the cross-codes clash.
iFL TV cameras caught some of a conversation between the pair at a meet and greet event on Sunday, with A.J asking Mayweather if Wembley, which housed 90,000 people for Joshua vs Klitschko, was a big enough venue for a battle between he and the Irishman.
“For me and McGregor? It’s not big enough. For me and McGregor, we need a planet.” said Mayweather.
“Get me on the undercard,” said a laughing Joshua in response.“That’s legendary shit. That fight will go (down) in history,” Joshua added later.

The pair also discussed Joshua’s performance against Klitschko, with Mayweather complementing the Watford walloper for his determination and heart.
“You showed dog in you,” said Floyd.
