Two months removed from what was dubbed the biggest fight in combat sports history, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor now look to the future.
Does the future hold a rematch between the pair in store?
According to legendary boxing analyst Jim Lampley, we shouldn’t rule that possibility out.
Lampley is famed as one of the most passionate and knowledgeable commentators in the boxing world and has been around the sport for many years. He has some pretty strong opinions on the whole spectacle which was Mayweather vs. McGregor back in August.
In an interview with TMZ this week, Lampley explains his point of view on the rivalry between the MMA superstar and ‘Money’ Mayweather in a very intriguing fashion.
Although Mayweather relatively eased to victory via 10th round TKO on August 26th, it was clear that Conor was having some success in the early rounds.
Lampley has expressed the view that Floyd literally let the UFC champion win those early rounds, stating that it is all a part of Mayweather’s master plan. Mayweather released cryptic video footage of him training earlier this week which has people wondering, who is he training for? Is a repeat of the August 26 showdown on the cards?
Lampley believes it is a lot more likely than most would probably believe. Labelling the whole scenario “a scam”, the HBO pundit is certain that we will see both Floyd and Conor renew their rivalry in order to further enhance their hefty bank balances.
