Tyson Fury says he will sack his promoters if he doesn’t fight by March

Tyson Fury is adamant that he will be back in the ring in either February or March, whether or not a fight with Dillian Whyte can be made.

Whyte looked set to be named as Fury’s mandatory challenger by the WBC, but that decision has been delayed, as the heavyweight contender is currently in a legal battle with the governing body.

A fight between Fury and Whyte could still be made mandatory some time in the future, but the ‘Gyspy King’ is unwilling to spend another lengthy period of time out of the ring after a 20-month gap between his last two fights with Deontay Wilder.

Fury was speaking to IFL TV and insisted that he will fight anyone who is willing to get into a ring with him, although he did indicate that he would like to face Whyte next.

“I thought I was going to be fighting Dillian Whyte. I don’t know what he’s doing in his own private life with the WBC,” Fury said.

“There’s a court case going on which is kind of shitty really because I know how long arbitrations can go on for because it took 18 months to get mine sorted with Deontay Wilder.

“So I hope that he doesn’t get caught in the long grass and I hope I don’t have to fight somebody else like a voluntary or whatever. It is what it is. Whatever’s going to happen will happen. I don’t care because they’re all only work outs to me.

“I’ll destroy every man that comes in front of me, as I’ve been doing all my life. It doesn’t matter if it’s Dillian Whyte, Dillian Blue or Dillian Grey. I don’t care who it is.”

The Gyspy King sends a warning shot to his promoters.

Fury has encountered significant contractual problems in recent times which scuppered his planned bout with Anthony Joshua and resulted in a lengthy time away from the ring.

The 33-year-old promised that he would sack his promoters and organise fights for himself if they don’t secure a bout for him by March.

“I am definitely fighting end of February or early March, one million percent. There is no ifs, buts or maybes about it, or I will sack my full promotional outfit and I’ll promote myself,” Fury explained.

“Gypsy King promotions, there you go… Either way I’ll be fighting end of February, early March. That’s 100 percent guaranteed. And who it is? I just don’t give a damn, because the outcome’s always going to be the same. I will win.”
