Jake Paul defeats Tyron Woodley by split decision to claim fourth professional win

YouTuber Jake Paul has claimed his fourth professional boxing victory with a split decision win against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

Paul was the deserved winner in the end, as the ageing MMA star failed to capitalise on a shot that rocked the 24-year-old in the fourth round, with the younger man controlling most of the fight.

While Paul looked weary in the final few rounds of the eight round fight, Woodley didn’t land enough punches to convince the judges to declare him the winner, with Paul ahead 77-75 and 78-74 on two of the scorecards, while one judge went for Woodley by 77-75.

Jake Paul agrees to rematch with Tyron Woodley on one condition.

Woodley was unhappy with the judges’ decision, claiming that he had won the fight, and called for an immediate rematch with Paul in the post-fight interview with Showtime.

Paul was initially uninterested in a rematch with the former UFC star, but agreed to fight Woodley again on the provision that he got a tattoo which says ‘I love Jake Paul’.

Somewhat surprisingly, Woodley agreed to that and the pair shook hands before Paul called for his opponent to get the tattoo immediately, to no avail.

Tommy Fury calls out the YouTuber.

While a second fight with Woodley is certainly a possibility, the YouTuber received another offer from Tommy Fury, the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, to duke it out.

The pair have traded insults for a number of months now, but they have never been able to come to an official agreement to fight.

Fury, who claimed a largely unimpressive unanimous victory decision against Anthony Taylor on the undercard, came face to face with Paul after the fights in the backstage of at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse arena in Cleveland.

The British boxer told Paul to stop running from a fight with him, before the pair were separated by security.
