BT Sport apologise for ‘unacceptable comments’ made in Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul presser

BT Sport have apologised for comments made during a recent press conference ahead of Tommy Fury’s fight with Jake Paul.

A number of insults were dished out during a press conference that was live streamed by BT Sport, ahead of the younger Fury brother’s fight against American YouTuber Paul on December 18th.

Fury was joined by his older brother Tyson and his dad John at the event, with Paul speaking to the trio via a video call. In a particularly heated exchange, the senior Fury aimed an insult at Paul’s girlfriend.

“You know when Tommy knocks you out, he’s going to bend your girlfriend over and do her like a dog in front of you,” the eldest Fury said, much to his son’s dismay.

BT Sport issue an apology.

BT Sport have released a statement addressing comments that were made during the press conference, saying that they go against the values that they uphold.

“This week BT Sport streamed a live boxing press conference that included a number of offensive and unacceptable comments, some of which has led to further online abuse,” the statement reads.

“This goes against all the values that BT Sport wants to uphold. We would like to apologise for any offence or upset this has caused.”

Fury and Paul will face each other in Florida next month.

While most of the attention has been focused on the insults exchanged between Fury’s and Paul’s camps, the two are actually fighting each other next month in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Both men are currently unbeaten in their professional careers, with Fury having won his previous seven bouts while Paul has won four fights to date.

It will be the first time that Paul has fought an actual boxer on December 18th, as the American has previously fought two MMA fighters, a basketball players and a fellow YouTuber.
