Watch: Wilder And Fury Go Face-To-Face As Fight Is Confirmed

Tyson Fury easily won the second fight of his long-awaited comeback on Saturday night.

His return win two and a half years after his crowning moment against Wladimir Klitschko was a low-key affair, but with likely opponent Deontay Wilder at ringside, Fury’s victory over Francesco Pianeta was anything but.

The former heavyweight champion eased his way past the Italian, who started well enough but ultimately was outclassed by the 6′ 9″ Brit.

Fury won all ten rounds, looking fitter and lighter on his feet than in his previous outing. The fight itself wasn’t much to write home about, but Fury was never an Anthony Joshua-type boxer when it comes to dismissing over-matched opponents.

He took Wilder’s WBC belt and paraded it around the ring.

Then, the moment that everyone anticipated had arrived.

The WBC champion entered the ring to confront Fury, waking up the Belfast crowd from their 30 minute slumber.

“It’s on, this fight is official!”, Wilder declared in his own post-fight interview.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren confirmed this, with the man himself then getting in insults at both his opponent and Anthony Joshua.

“Anthony Joshua is a shithouse. One thing I promise when I get to Las Vegas is that I am knocking you the fuck out!”
