Teddy Atlas & Stephen A. Smith Go Crazy At Canelo/GGG Decision On SportsCenter

Another Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin fight, another controversial decision.

The first fight last year saw a split draw given after twelve rounds, with Canelo, who was somehow awarded a 118-110 win by judge Adelaide Byrd, then testing positive for Clenbuterol.

Last night’s rematch surpassed it for quality with superb, high-level action throughout, but it matched the first bout in the decision drama stakes.

One judge scored it a draw, while the other two gave ‘Canelo’ Alvarez a slim 115-113 win, much to the chagrin of many fans, who called the decision a ‘robbery’.

While Smith felt that Golovkin deserved the win, he vehemently disagreed that the Kazakhstani boxer was hard done by.
